- Mateo's rat-tail is nearly alway visible. It just is because logic.
- Most of Mateo's emotion is found in his very fast body language, more than his face. Twitch reaction speeds aren't uncommon for him.
- His tail has weight. He cannot lift it up very well. He uses the weight on it as a counter-balance to his fast movements that would usually be unbalanced
- The weird fur around his shoulders, abdomen, and calves are an odd design choice that I just kept around. It doesn't have a reason to exist, honestly.
- "Well if you keep getting your stupid face in my stupid way, I'm going to keep running into you!"
- "Absolutely not."
- "I don't really know what that means... And I don't care either."

Mateo is something like a leader to the rest of the Hybrid Squad. After finding himself in legal heat surrounding his Pseudo-Deity abilities, he would mostly stick to himself day in and day out to avoid causing any more trouble. Shortly after a run-in with a large threat to his livelihood and relationships, Mateo began to meet other hybrids in his local area, eventually finding himself spending his time with them and becoming a neighborhood vigilante, protecting the area from new threats with the help of his equally strong new friends.
LIKES & HOBBIES
Mateo is a hobbyist HVE-Plane rider (something similar to a hoverboard) and self-taught engineer. When Mateo is not spending time with the other hybrids, he's most likely in his workshop tinkering with old HVE-Planes. Alternatively, he can be found around the town simply wandering about the city in the early hours of the day, when the city falls asleep- his favorite time to be out- when the city is as quiet as he is.
city nights, his own tail, the holiday season, technology, hve-plane events, walking or roaming around, his room and his workshop
DISLIKES & AVERSIONS
Although he's usually found stuck to a group of 10 other boys, Mateo usually does not like being around a lot of people (as if you have a choice when 10 boys are literally camping outside your door until you go with them). He prefers his solitude, and is prone to quietly slipping away from the rest of the boys for an extended period of time. His infamy causes him alot of grief also, keeping him from openly talking to new people.
being compared to a dog, eye contact, literally anything from 6am to 9pm, abrasive people, malfunctions, uniforms or most clothing for that matter, tea, video games
RELATIONSHIPS & FRIENDS
The other hybrids have become Mateo's extended family basically. He's constantly feuding with Tager over ideals on what the group should do, and also constantly finds himself in small bouts with Dai, who comes off as an asshole to Mateo more times than not. Jiang was the first other hybrid he'd ever met, so he's particularly nice to him. Mateo, Lee, Tager, and Dai are the powerhouses of the hybrids, so when an issue arises, they usually find themselves on the same side of the battle, no matter what personal drama may arise.
Mateo gets along really well with the Hybrid Squad, only really butting heads against Dai and Tager, the most abrasive and combative of the bunch. He particularly finds solace in Elijah's company, and is willing to listen to his talkative ramblings and often forsaking his own free time to hang out with him. He extends this kindness to some of the others as well- Jiang and Irido-Ren specifically. He considers Lee to be the most competent of the squad and can usually trust his judgement.
Aside from the squad, Mateo also finds a friend in his martial arts teacher, simply and fondly known as just "Coach" to him. Primarily out of the respect that she, a normal human, can constantly whoop his ass, and also because she's already shown a large amount of compassion to him, he tries to stay on her good side.
Mateo's mother runs a single-parent household, managing a single fiery child. She usually trusts Mateo won't get himself into trouble, and permits him to be out at late nights under the promise of keeping safe. She doesn't find time to connect with her son, but she understands that he's best off when left to his own devices.
Mateo doesn't keep many rivals, as he's not particularly fond of challenging people directly, but he considers the other powerhouses of the Hybrid Squad- Tager, Lee, and sometimes Elijah- to be close to rivals. He won't particularly try and do anything better than them or outshine them, but he finds himself taking a bit of joy in confrontations with them that he wins- aside from Elijah, where he'd rather Elijah won.
You can't make enemies if you just keep your mouth quiet. Aside from being an enemy of state, he doesn't particularly do anything to warrant long-term enemies.
